Andrew's take on Vomero Plus
Our team members do a crazy amount of research on shoes we carry. Any time a new shoe comes in, they have already been deep in the rabbit hole of finding out the technical specs, what the reviews say, and what details make it exciting for our community to run in. Andrew has been researching the Vomero Plus; here's what makes this shoe exciting to him.
Nike welcomes its newest max cushion shoe to the family: the Vomero Plus. Despite its unruly looks the Vomero Plus features the same stack and heel-to-toe drop as the Vomero 18, but with full ZoomX foam instead of the ZoomX and ReactX combination. The result is a lighter and delightfully bouncier underfoot experience. As the spiritual successor to the Nike Invincible 3, the Vomero Plus is Nike's answer to those looking for a recovery shoe, heel strikers, and heavier runners. Comparable shoes include the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 27, Brooks Glycerin Max, the New Balance Fresh Foam X More v5, and the ON Cloudmonster 2.
A few exciting details include:
- More breathable upper than Vomero 18.
- A little more ankle padding than Vomero 18.
- Full length traction pattern - added durability since ZoomX is softer (3)
- Small reflective detailing (3)
